About
Mission Statement:
Swim Pony Performing Arts: Loud, strange and never seen before on earth! Swim Pony is committed to the creation of unique live performances that are joyful and defy tradition in order to bring contemporary audiences beyond their experiences of the every-day.
Company History:
Helmed by artistic director Adrienne Mackey, Swim Pony was founded in December of 2009 to give a name to the body of genre-defying work she creates with an ensemble of multidisciplinary artists who have made a commitment to one another and to live and work in Philadelphia. In the spring of 2010 the company premiered its first work, SURVIVE! a 22,000 square ft choose-your-own adventure installation exploring how humanity understands the universe and man’s place within it. Hailed by critics as a unique experimental work and one of 2010′s performances not to miss Swim Pony’s first show launched the company into the Philadelphia scene as a strong upstart company to watch. Look for their next work – Lady M – in 2011′s Live Arts Festival.
